Occupational Therapy

Currently limited to residents in Illinois, Georgia, and Colorado. The focus of occupational therapy is on assessing and treating functional limitations. We specialize in working holistically with neurodivergent teens and adults across all areas of occupation (activities you engage in on a regular basis, such as daily self-care and home tasks, work, play/leisure, education, social participation, and rest). 

Sessions can be conducted via video and/or phone. Limited in-person sessions are available in the Schaumburg, IL area.

Sensory Coaching

We specialize in addressing health and wellness from a neurodivergent-affirming perspective. The focus of coaching is to help you meet your goals through mindset shifts and making step-by-step changes that stick. Coaching is most effective when you believe in your ability to change, but could use some support to make it happen. While coaching may not be the best fit for everyone, we can help you determine if it’s right for you.

Presentations & Workshops

Our founder, Sarah Norris, has given presentations and led workshops at schools, universities, churches, therapy clinics, and professional organizations. She has addressed groups of children, parents, adults, students, and professionals alike. Topics she can speak on include, but are not limited to: neurodivergence, sensory processing, mental health, nervous system wellness, and occupational therapy.

Assessments & Evaluations

Informal assessments are included in the coaching and therapy process for all clients. In some cases, a comprehensive evaluation may be the most appropriate place to start our work together, especially if you’ve never gone through a comprehensive sensory-based evaluation process before. We also conduct assessments for clients who need official documentation for educational and/or work accommodations.

Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP)

The Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) is an auditory intervention based on Dr. Stephen Porges’s Polyvagal Theory, which uses specially filtered music to help regulate the nervous system. The Sensory Coach is an authorized provider of the SSP.

Fees

Virtual Coaching & Occupational Therapy (OT) Services

$175 per hour

In-person Coaching & OT Services (in Illinois, USA)

$225 per hour

The Sensory Coach Inc. does not bill insurance for Direct Services (such as therapy, coaching, and consultation). The Sensory Coach Inc. is an out-of-network occupational therapy provider in the States of Illinois, Georgia, and Colorado, and an out-of-network coach and consultant in all other States and countries. 

Clients are responsible for checking with their insurance company regarding their eligibility for reimbursement. Clients are required to pay for services and must submit their own claims for insurance reimbursement (if eligible). The Sensory Coach does not submit claims for clients. Superbills (forms to submit to insurance for reimbursement) are available upon request. Services may be payable via a Health Spending Account (HSA) or Flex Spending Account (FSA). Pre-payment, sliding scale, and membership discounts are available upon request. Clients are only eligible for one type of discount at a time. 

Direct Service fees are billable by the hour, half-hour, and quarter-hour, and are due at the time of service.
